The AI chatbot for ski resorts and ski areas

Lift passes, lift openings, closures, access: it answers your skiers in the evening, at weekends and in their own language, using your content and your operating data. Your team keeps its time for the tricky cases.

What we see across the ski areas we equip

These figures come from real conversations at two ski areas we support, during winter 2026.

No. 1 topic

No. 1 topic

Lift passes account for 4 to 7 conversations in 10, depending on the ski area: prices, offers, duration and conditions.

2 in 3

2 in 3

Two conversations in three come in outside office hours: in the evening, at weekends or before the ticket offices open.

7–9 am

7–9 am

This is the daily peak. Skiers plan their day before the first lift.

1 in 3

1 in 3

Up to one conversation in three takes place in English at the most international ski area, and one in five at the other.

Lift passes

Lift passes are more complex than they look

Off-pattern stays, non-consecutive days, families, current offers: at one of our ski areas, one conversation in four is about a non-standard lift pass. The chatbot knows your price grid and asks the right questions before it answers.

Four of us

Four of us

“Two adults and two children aged 8 and 12: which lift pass should we buy?” It checks whether your family pack applies and gives the price set in your grid.

Wednesday

Wednesday

“We arrive on Wednesday afternoon and leave on Saturday: which pass?” It suggests the right duration, even outside a Saturday-to-Saturday stay.

4 hours

4 hours

“Does the 4-hour pass start at purchase or at the first lift?” It answers with your exact rules.

Ski area

Ski area

“Large or small ski area for beginners?” It recommends the area that suits their level, not just the cheapest one.

Requests

Before the stay and on the slopes, different needs

The chatbot serves the skier planning a stay and the one already on the slopes. Answers always come from your content.

Plan and buy

Before the stay

Skiers choose their lift pass by duration, age and group size. They check the snow and plan their access before paying.

Choosing a pass: duration, age, ski area

Family pack, beginner and pedestrian passes

Sales opening and early booking

Snow cover, weather, webcams

Access, car parks, shuttles

Ski schools and group lessons

On the slopes

During the stay

On site, the questions change: is a link lift open, when does the chairlift close, what happens after a closure? The answer has to be up to date.

Open runs and lifts

Lift and link opening hours

Avalanche risk and today’s weather

Extending a lift pass

Compensation after a closure

Invoices, orders, failed payments

Skiers often ask in July about February. The chatbot has to understand which season they mean, even when the website already shows summer activities.

The chatbot

A chatbot that speaks the language of ski areas

Weekly pass or extension, run status or lift hours, local area or linked area: getting the answer right comes down to a detail. The chatbot asks the right question instead of guessing.

It guides skiers all the way to payment

Children’s ages, dates, size of the ski area: it clears up the doubts that block a purchase, then sends the link to your online shop. Skiers buy instead of calling.

It shows you what your skiers ask

AI classifies every conversation by reason and assesses it: lift passes, openings, snow, after-sales. You see where answers are missing before the February holidays.

Connected to your systems, it goes further

Connected via API to your run status tool, it gives the current status of a lift. Linked to your price grid, it calculates the lift pass price and sends a link to your online shop. It only suggests a higher-tier offer when the skier benefits.

Examples

What your skiers ask it

Real requests, rephrased. Simple questions are handled around the clock; anything that needs a person is passed on.

Lift pass

Parent

“How much is a 3-day pass for a 5-year-old?”

“How much is a 3-day pass for a 5-year-old?”

It applies your grid by age band and duration, then sends the link to your online shop.

Openings

Skier

“Are the links between the two ski areas open today?”

“Are the links between the two ski areas open today?”

Connected to your run status tool, it gives the status of each link, open or closed.

Snow

Future holidaymaker

“Is there enough snow to come next week?”

“Is there enough snow to come next week?”

It doesn’t judge snow quality on your behalf: it points to your webcams and snow report.

Closure

Skier

“The chairlift was closed all afternoon: am I entitled to compensation?”

“The chairlift was closed all afternoon: am I entitled to compensation?”

It reminds skiers of your rules on extensions, credit notes or refunds, then passes the request to your teams, who decide.

After-sales

Skier

“I need an invoice for my lift pass for my expense report.”

“I need an invoice for my lift pass for my expense report.”

It explains how to get the invoice from the order confirmation, without involving an agent.

Access

Visitor

“The resort is car-free: where should I leave my car?”

“The resort is car-free: where should I leave my car?”

It points visitors to your car parks and shuttles, rather than letting the GPS lead them to the foot of the slopes.

Implementation

Built with your teams, from your content

Your teams know the skiers’ questions and the edge cases. We turn them into a chatbot over three scoping workshops.

Your content, season by season

Winter and summer content are kept separate. At each change of season, you switch on the right content without rewriting everything.

Your operating data

Connected via API to your run status tool, it tells the status of a run apart from the opening hours of a lift.

Your price grid

Lift pass prices are calculated from your grid, by duration and age. The AI never guesses them.

Ready for the sales opening

The chatbot is ready in 8 weeks. Scope it in spring or summer, test it in September and October, and go live with the sales opening.

Real example

At a resort we support, each document is “online”, “draft” or “archived”. When winter turns to summer, the team switches on the new season’s content in a few clicks.

Support

A project manager who knows your ski area

Figures are not enough. Your project manager analyses them with you and helps you decide.

A dedicated contact

They know your ski area, your lift passes and your season calendar.

A monthly review

Rising topics, unresolved conversations, content to update: you decide on adjustments together.

Tailored analyses

Which questions come up after a lift closure? We study your conversations to find out.

Every conversation analysed

AI measures resolution, topics and missing information across all your conversations.

Real example

At a resort we support, conversation analysis showed that visitors thought they could rent their equipment from the lift operator. This is the kind of misunderstanding the monthly review helps correct.

It answers in the language of the question, among more than 100 languages. You can restrict the languages allowed.

Ready for your IT department

The chatbot only accesses the content and services you open to it, never your customer databases. We answer your security questions point by point.

Frequently asked questions

01.

What is a chatbot for a ski resort?

A chatbot for a ski resort is a virtual assistant, also called a conversational agent or AI agent. Installed on the ski area’s website, on WhatsApp or on Messenger, it answers skiers in writing. It handles lift pass choices, run and lift openings, weather, access and after-sales on behalf of the operator.

With ViaSay, it uses generative AI and answers only from the resort’s content, prices and operating data.

02.

Can the chatbot tell whether a run or a lift is open?

Yes, if it is connected via API to your run status tool. It gives the open or closed status of a run, the opening hours of a lift and the status of links between ski areas.

Its answer is as reliable as the data entered by the ski patrol. When the information is out of date, it says so.

03.

Does the chatbot help sell lift passes online?

Yes. It asks for the length of stay, the ages and the number of skiers, then points to the right offer: weekly pass, family pack, beginner or pedestrian pass. The price is calculated from your price grid, never guessed by the AI.

It then sends a link to your online shop and can suggest a higher-tier offer when the skier benefits. Questions that were blocking the purchase get an answer without a call to customer service.

04.

What does the chatbot do on a storm day or when the ski area closes?

Your teams publish an information message, which the chatbot displays on its welcome screen and uses in its answers. It explains the forms of compensation you apply: extension, credit note or refund.

It then collects requests with the relevant details. Refunds are always approved by your teams.

05.

What do skiers ask customer service most often?

Lift passes come first by far. At two ski areas we equip, they account for 4 to 7 conversations in 10: prices, offers, duration, family packs, non-consecutive days. Next come off-slope activities, equipment rental, lift openings and refunds after a closure.

Two conversations in three come in outside office hours, with a peak between 7 and 9 am. Source: ViaSay statistics for the first quarter of 2026, covering more than 12,000 conversations.

06.

Does the chatbot answer foreign skiers in their own language?

Yes. It answers in the language of the question, among more than 100 languages, even on the French version of your website. You can restrict the languages allowed.

At the ski areas we equip, up to one conversation in three takes place in English.

07.

How can a seasonal team answer skiers in the evening and at weekends?

The chatbot handles simple questions around the clock: lift passes, opening hours, access, terms of sale. Your team, often smaller out of season and at weekends, only receives the requests that need it.

When a person is needed, it passes on the request with the conversation and a summary. If an agent is available, the conversation continues live; if not, the request arrives as a ticket, so the skier doesn’t have to explain everything again.

08.

How can you absorb the peak of requests when lift pass sales open?

By launching the chatbot beforehand. It is ready in 8 weeks: ideally, scope it in spring or summer, then test it in September and October. During the season, your teams no longer have time to run a project.

When sales open and during the school holidays, the chatbot answers every skier at once, day and night. Your agents focus on blocked orders and special cases.

09.

Can ViaSay be purchased through UGAP?

Yes. ViaSay is listed with UGAP, the French public purchasing agency. A ski area run directly by a local authority or by a local public company can therefore order through the agency without running its own competitive tender.

10.

How much does a chatbot for a ski resort cost?

Setup starts at €5,000: knowledge base, testing and support through to go-live. The subscription is then billed per conversation, around €0.13, depending on your volume and channels.

Connections to your systems (run status, price grid, online shop) are quoted separately. Details are on our Pricing page.
